The events of Woolwich today have deeply saddened me.
It is a town that I have frequented throughout my life (including today, a little more than an hour before these events took place) and I have never, ever, heard anything like this.
My thoughts go to the poor man and his family.
However, the people rallying to meet in Woolwich Town Centre at 9pm tonight are just going to make things worse.
I understand the anger, an innocent life has been brutally taken, but you cannot take the law into your own hands. Innocent Muslims will be targeted because of this, and it is a stupid shame.
Not only will you make yourselves look like thugs, and tar the worlds view on our ability to handle these kind of events, you will hinder the police’s work, as instead of focusing on todays events, they will have to babysit you.
Leave things alone, let the police do their work, and don’t forget the innocent life that has been taken today.
